Where it began…

Nikki McGar is the creative force behind Nikki McGar Interiors, a boutique design studio based on the Bellarine Peninsula. A former school teacher turned interior designer, Nikki's journey began with styling her own Airbnb, which ignited her passion for creating spaces that tell a story.

After relocating to the Peninsula, she joined the team at Greenhouse Interiors, where she was mentored by renowned stylist and interiors writer Julia Green. The experience helped her hone her creative eye and deepen her love for bold, personality-filled design, laying the foundation for her own design studio.

Known for her fearless use of colour and for blending vintage charm with modern aesthetics, she crafts homes that are both functional and deeply personal.

Nikki’s work has been featured in publications including House & Garden and Inside Out, and she continues to inspire with her thoughtful, story-driven approach to design.

"Working with Nikki has been an incredible experience. From the very beginning, her vision, creativity, and attention to detail stood out. Nikki listened carefully to my preferences and transformed my space into something I never imagined possible. Every corner of my unit reflects thoughtfulness and expertise. I feel like I’m walking into a personalised sanctuary every day. The process was smooth, and Nikki was always professional and open to my input. I couldn’t be happier with the result and would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to elevate their home. Thank you for turning my space into something truly special!"
